Erik began his riding career in April 2007 as a track day regular with the Northeast Sportbike Association. In less than 3 months, with hard work and dedication he became an advanced rider. After further developing his skills, Erik attended the Learning Curves Race Clinic in August 2007. In September 2007, he attended the final round of the Mid-West Champion Cup Series (CCS) to go up against riders that had been racing the entire season. Although only being his first race weekend, Erik finished with 2 podiums.
